Young Buck, former Cash Money Millionaire and the only southern rapper in the G-Unit, certainly keeps it ‘gutter’ with his solo debut album “Straight Outta Cashville”. The album title derived from the NWA’s Straight Outta Compton, speaks for itself. “It tells you my way of living up on to this day. I want the world to get a feel of me, showing them the way I am and the way I get down,” said Buck in his record label biography.

  Following the success of 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks the pressure is on Buck to keep the ball rolling both in terms of sales and fan approval. Unlike the previous G-Unit albums, Buck does not have any in-house production. The album has a lot of southern flavor; it also has a somewhat ‘grimey’ New York feel to it. Even if you're not a G-Unit fan, this is a must have album.

  Straight Outta Cashville features phenomenal production by Dr. Dre, Eminem and Lil’ Jon. Along with appearances from the G-Unit’s own 50 cent, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo. It also features some well-known Southern artists including T.I., Lil’ Flip, David Banner, and Ludacris. 

  Buck was able to demonstrate that he is, by all means, a great lyricist. Although he does not have a very distinctive flow, the Nashville, Tennessee native really did a superior job with the tracks on this album. Some of the hot tracks were “Let Me In”, “Welcome to The South”, “Shorty Wanna Ride”, “Black Gloves” and the controversial “Stomp” featuring T.I. and Ludacris. (Depending on which version of the song you have it may feature Game.)

  Buck definitely delivers real stories from the streets. He delivers a more believable message than a lot of other artists. He does not gloat about the material things he has, he focuses more on how he had to struggle to get those things. He certainly proved his eminence to those who questioned whether he would be successful, especially since he is the only Southern rapper to release an album off of the New York based G-Unit/Interscope record label.
