Reviewer: Mistah Motion Rating: Click Here To Order This Album [an error occurred while processing this directive]       PT Cruiser returns to the solo scene with the album entitled "By Any Means Necessary" after coming out on the DSGB album. It's been awhile since we heard him with his own cd. His last solo attempt was a couple years back in 2002 if I remember correct. This cd features guest appearances from Juvenile, Ms. Shyneka, Dj Mars, Lil Snap, Lil Killa, Chip, 8ball, Ill Will and Lil Pete. It has 13 total tracks with 1 being an intro and a 2nd being an interlude.       This album is kind of a dissapointment I thought. It starts out with a very mediocre intro titled "Im Warnin Ya". The production and everything is just average at best. If you gonna start off your cd by rappin than you better do somethin half tight at the least. The following track "Crank Me Up" is pretty tight though. It's got like a small rock and roll sound to the production with some guitar and a grimey feel overall. Somethin you should definately be able to ride to.       The next song "Ridin Big" was the single for this album. I liked the beat and PT delivered with the verses nicely but it still wasn't an all that great song for me. It took me a few full listens of it to even like it with the little I do. Now the next song "Atlanta" is nice. One of the best songs on the album. The beat is fire and PT comes real on this here talkin bout his home. Troy can really hold it down when he put it down like this. Definately my favorite side of him. It's quite a chill track and the way his vocals ride the beat is perfect.       The song "Representin" is an above average track. I'm really feelin how they strip out the beat towards the end of the verses and let him just glide over the melody without the claps. The chorus is a bit catchy and the production is also nicely done right here. The next track "About To Go Down" has a hard ass beat I think. EVERYTHING is quite simple but it works on this song pretty well. Definately sounds like an anthem track and it could even be club friendly for the right kinda clubs.       "Off The Chain" features Ms. Shyneka and it is definately a club track. It's another mediocre song and to be honest, I didn't find myself feelin this a whole lot. Neither production wise or the song itself. The song "Benz" has an appearance from Dj Mars and it will sound quite familiar beat and chorus wise as it's Troy's take on another song by X and Jaleel(correct me if im wrong). The chorus goes "Benz.......How many of us have them/Benz.....Ones we can depend on....." and you can just get the idea on how the rest goes. It's an interesting take on the song and I give him credit for comin up with a nice idea but it falls short of being anything more than that for me.       The interlude "Lil Snap and Lil Killa" is 2 younger kids rappin over a straight beat. It sounds like they freestyled but I aint sure. It's nothin more than what an interlude should be and that's entertaining. In a few years they may turn out tight but we'll have to wait and see what happens with em. "Boys To Men" features Chip and 8ball. I'm not too impressed with the production or Troy on this track a whole lot. Im gonna be real, I was wantin to change the song damn near right away when I heard it. No disrespect to PT but this was definately not up there with what he's capable of doin. Chip sings on the chorus and does an alright job of it, nothin more, nothin less. 8ball however attempted to keep the track alive with an average performance but the overall song fell short in my opinion.       "Crazy" features the artist Ill Will. I'm feelin this track. PT starts it out right and keeps it goin throughout the song. The production is chilled out and the chorus is tight. It gets delivered pretty well over the beat. The next song up is titled "Nice Change" and it has appearances from Juvenile along with Lil Pete. The production sounds alright, nothin special though. Lil Pete starts the track off with an average verse. I really like the way PT worked it and rode on the beat. Juvenile rocks the chorus on here which is very repetitive and quite plain in my opinion. I would have liked to hear Juvie actually drop a verse on here. Overall this is just another average track.       Last song of the cd is called "Fuck Them Niggaz". I could definately ride to this right here. The production is nice and Troy lays it down hard over the hyped up beat hittin behind his vocals. This is one of the tightest songs on the album. "Everybody wanna put violence in they rhyme/They love 50 cent cause he got shot nine times/But what about me? I done shot nine muthafuckas/Left a nigga in his yard for his motha". Now that's what i'm talkin bout! This track is just bangin.       Now, this album had it's good points but even more weaker ones. It's a decent overall album but nothin more and it's definately not what PT is fully capable of. I would have liked to hear him flex his talent alot more than what he did. He has alot of it inside him and you can hear it shine in songs such as "Atlanta" and previous tracks like "Vica Versa". The overall album comes up a bit short though and I give it a "3/5".
