After a 2 year gap along with the leaveing and the return to Cash Money Records, Juvenile releases his latest album entitled "Juve The Great". Was he better off without or with Cash Money and super-producer Mannie Fresh? The album has appearances from Skip, Wacko, Baby, Mannie Fresh and Soulja Slim(RIP) along with production by some up and comers by the names of Griz, Slice T and Ad Future......

The "Intro" is just a small verse kicked by Juve to start off the album over a pretty decent chilled back beat. The trumpet type instrument in the back makes it quite nice and it fits his vocals well. Up next comes the single "In My Life" which has a bangin beat to it. The chorus is what we'd expect from Cash Money and it tends to get a bit repetitive after the first 2 times you hear it. Juvie holds it down with a grimey flow and keeps the song goin at a steady pace though making this a mediocre track in my opinion.

The following track "Enemy Turf" is a tight song with such lines as "Look, ima solid 170, lips like Bill Bellamy/Fresh out of the court house from whipping the felony" and a just as tight chorus. I actually liked this song quite a bit more than the single. The production is nasty and it goes real nice with what Juve doin on it. Definately one of the best points on the cd.

"Bounce Back" has more tight production once again and Juvie also delivers on this song. I am gettin tired of hearin all these vocal samples that producers been doin lately though on their beats. I wasn't really feelin Baby much on here just because it's the same old, same old that we've heard from them all before. "Down South Posted" is an average song. Beat is decent and the chorus is pretty good, one of the best parts of the song. Skip is where this song is at its prime though with "Yeah she say she love me(yeah), everytime she fuck me(yeah)/But then she saying fuck me(fuck me), everytime we fussing/Skip im sick of hustling(sick), boy you just disgusting/Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah bitch dont you tell me nothing" as his opener. Wacko serves up the 3rd verse to this song which is good also.

The production on "It Aint Mines" is fire. Folks did a fool on this beat. Juve talks about his personal paternity problems on this song right here and the suspicions he has about em. "Numb Numb" is another one of this cd's best tracks and finer points. Beat is another tight piece and the chorus is real simple but it rides on the melody very smooth. Juve flows nice with everything as he talks about sellin his coke and trying to keep out of shit for it. Now "Lil Daddy" is one song I don't care much for. That doesn't mean it's a bad song though. Juvie is tight on it but I couldn't get into the beat a whole lot. It's a quick paced beat but there's just somethin I don't like about it. Could be because it sounds repetitve with the horn type sounds in it.

The next 4 tracks "Fuckin With Me", "Cock It", "Juve The Great" and "Head In Advance" are all mediocre songs with nothin special. It's like the cd ran dry durin this part of the album. Not to worry though because the following track "For Everybody" gets it back on track with Skip, Wacko and Juvie talkin about how hoes are for everybody. The song is live and the bassline is bangin. Skip, Wacko AND Juvie all go hard and the chorus is tight. Definately up towards the top of the list on this cd for strong points.

"Slow Motion" is my top pick on this album. Everything is on point and tight as hell. The production is at it's best on here in my opinion and Soulja Slim not only doin the chorus but droppin some heat make it an even better track. Juvie doesn't dissapoint either and the way they sound together makes this song some definate repeat material.

As far as the overall rating of this album i'd have to give it a "3.5/5" due to the inconsistency of the album. It started out decent, went on and off than dropped off for a quarter of the cd and got back on track with the last 2 songs. I'm not overly impressed with anything on this album though it does have a few off the chain parts to it. It is worth the money though and even though it's not a 5 star album I still recommend it to be purchased.
