Big Boi - Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son Of Dusty Chico

After many delays Big Boi's debut solo album "Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son Of Dusty Chico" has finally been released. The album opens up with a very funky intro called "Feel Me", the beat is just plain rediculous, filled with synthesizers and whistling the only downside is that he didnt write some verses for it.

"Daddy Fat Sax" is the first real song, it feels a little bit like an Outkast song. The chorus has alot of sampling and scratching in it and may be the best aspect of the song.

"Follow Us" is a track that people either seem to love or hate, you make your own call on that one. Up next is "Turns Me On" which features Sleepy Brown and Joi with production by Organized Noize who handled alot of Outkast songs.

"Shutterbug" was the first single released from the album, it has a very funky feeling to it. It's very uptempo and would've been the perfect oppurtunity for Andre 3000 to hop on. The video for it is pretty damn cool and the chorus is addictive as hell.

ORDER IT Definitely one of the better songs on the album is "General Patton", filled with a harmonic choire in the background and alot of heavy brass this song is so hard its hard to explain. Unfortunately its the only song that was produced by Jbeatzz, we need to hear some more of his shit asap!

T.I. is on "Tangerine", the most anticipated song on the album. The beat is mellow yet upbeat. These two on the same song is such a treat as they are two of the best lyricists in the south.

Up and comer rapper Yelawolf is featured on "You Aint No DJ", this was actually produced by Andre 3000 who unfortunately doesnt appear on the album but he did make a very bumpin beat.

Grand Hustle artist B.o.B. appears on "Night Night", the song has alot of guitar, piano, brass and strings in it. It should be released as a single because it's one of the more bumpin songs on the whole album. It's impressive to see Bobby Ray hold his own with Big Boi.

Gucci Mane is featured on "Shine Blockas" which includes samples from a 70's soul song called "I Miss You" by Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes. Big Boi delivers his patented flow and Gucci Mane even comes with some top knotch bars on this one and pitches in on the hook. The remix includes verses from Bun B & Project Pat and can be found on the deluxe version.

Sam Chris is featured on "The Train, Pt. 2 (Sir Lucious Left Foot Saves the Day), I'm not too familiar with Sam Chris, but he is an artist that we will be hearing more of in the future. This is another Organized Noize production. They also handled the beat on the closing song "Back Up Plan" which is a song worthy of being released as a single.

Peaking as high as #3 on the Billboard charts "Sir Lucious Left Foot" was definitely a successful release for Big Boi as his debut album. Any Outkast fan or fan of southern rap in general should definitely grab this album at the store or get it on iTunes. Hopefully we'll have a new Outkast album within the next year or two.
