Juvenile - Beast Mode

 "Beast Mode" is Juvenile's 9th album and he stated that he didnt plan on having many featured artists on it. He did stay on that route as only 2 songs have featured artists and those artists are not ones that many people even know. Yes, his album cover does look a little like Drake's Thank Me Later, but that  doesnt mean his album is anywhere near as good as Drake's.

 Opening up with "Go Hard or Go Home", which is a hard song filled with synthesizers, bass and rapid hi-hats, its a banging track. His first single was "Drop That Azz", the chorus is a little bit addictive and the beat is comprised mainly of synthesizers. This is the recipe that gives Juve his hit songs and he almost succeeded with this one as the song peaked at #74 on the charts.

 

"La La La La La" is dedicated to smoking that good. Definitely a bangin song, it was produced by S-8ighty who did 5 tracks on the album. Another one that he did was "I'm Da Man", which might be one of the better songs on the album.

"Nothing Like Me" features Verse Simmons and Juvy Jr, who we have to assume is Juvenile's son. He comes with a decent verse, but he probably wont have a career as a rapper.

ORDER IT "No Team" has that New Orleans feel to it, it's a bumpin song with good verses by Juvenile. Up next is "Drinks On Me", another song with a little bit of a bounce feel to it. It was produced by Streets who should've done a few more songs for this album as the beat is pretty bumpin.

You've probably heard a dozen songs with the title "Where They Do That At", but Juve decided to make another one. His version aint too bad, but it aint that great either. The last song on the album is "Lights, Camera, Action", the chorus is the standout part, especially the synthesizers going on behind it. But it's another ok song which is how this whole album can be described. It's OK. If you have his previous 8 albums, you should go ahead and scoop this one up.
