I got this album and
didnt know anything about the artist, the label, & I didnt know where he was from, all
I saw was some dude lurking in the dark in a jason mask, well that brought back memories,
so I decided to pick it up, let's see what its talkin about ha?
The first track is "Sick & Tired" and this song is not really that tight,
but then again it is tight, its got an original sound to it and a tight chorus on it. The
next track is "Traffic King" this song is original too, Mr. Bigg aint tryin to
sound like no-one else. The chorus is great on this song, its real slow and mellow with
some guy singing "oooh I'm the traffic king" its the damn shit, its got some old
"funky" type of feel to it. The way Mr. Bigg rap is tight as hell. This song
right here is beautiful.
The next track which is the single off the album is "Trial Time" the hook goes
"Take that shit to trial Bitch! Take that shit to trial bitch!" the beat on here
kinda sound like some Beelow or Smoked Our Records shit, you cant help but nod your head
to this song, very nice. On "Ho's" it got a nice brass beat, I cant think of
what its sampled from, but yall have heard it before, Mr. Bigg has tight lyrics all the
way through this song. "Time Served" kinda has a tight beat, but the beat is too
"happy" for me, its still bangin, but it gets kinda old halfway through. The
title track for this album, "Only If U Knew" is a decent song, but its nothing
special like the first couple of tracks.
Every now and then The Last Mr. Bigg drops some less than tight lyrics, but throughout
most the album is verses are tight, this album deserves to be heard, "Traffic
King" & "Trial Time" are 2 of the best songs of 2000.
I recomend this album to everybody, it's not a classic album, but it is the shit. |
