Trae is back
with his newest release "Restless" on Rap-A-Lot
Records. Trae has dropped alot of albums with
Guerilla Maab and alot more albums
solo. This promises to be his best selling
album because its on Rap-A-Lot, but is it his best
album? Should you drop your hard earned money on
it?
"Real Talk" is the first track on the album. It
has a very uptempo dark beat and Trae's flow is
incredible. He go hard as hell on this one, if you
love it when he flows fast as hell then this song
is for you. It doesnt have a chorus on it, there's
no rapping where the hook is supposed to go, but
thats the way they should've done it, it lets you
enjoy the beat.
Yung Joc makes an appearance on "In The Hood"
The beat is real tight, the only thing I dont like
it about it the finger snaps. I guess they decided
to do that since Joc is featured on it, aside from
that though its a real good beat and Joc has a
decent verse on it and also delivers the chorus.
Bun B is featured on "So Gangsta" which is a
song dedicated to gangsta shit. I wasnt
really feeling this track at all. The hook
isnt that tight and the verses by Bun B & Trae
arent that impressive.
The title
track "Restless" has a 70's soul feeling to it.
Young Noble of the Outlaws is featured on it.
This is the type of song that you sit back and
reflect about life while you bang it loud as hell.
Another track that might have you reflecting is
"Rain" it has alot of guitars in it, when it
starts you wouldnt even think that its a rap song,
but Trae drops some real deep verses on it.
The only downside of this track is the hook which
is performed by Dallas & Shyna. It sounds
terrible.
Three 6 Mafia &
Paul Wall are featured on "Cadillac" The beat
is damn near screwed. It's definately the
hardest beat on the album. Both Juicy J & DJ
Paul got real tight verses on this song, but
Crunchy Black isnt on here. Paul Wall
delivers the last verse on the song and it's one
of the better verses I've heard from him in a
while. I also need to mention that Jayton &
Lil Boss from S.L.A.B. are also featured
"Cadillac" because everybody on this track drops
drops real nice verses.
Z-Ro is
featured on "No Help", like alot of the tracks on
this album, this song aint about bragging about
money and cars, it's about some real shit.
The beat is mellow and the verses by Z-Ro & Trae
are impressive.
Some other
tracks on "Restless" that you should check out are
"D Swang" which features Pimp C & H.A.W.K. (RIP)
"Matter Of Time" features Mya on the hook and "Pop
Trunk Wave" which features Fat Pat.
If you're
into "Brag Rap" this album aint for you, you aint
gonna hear Trae too often talking about material
shit, but if you feel like hearing an album with
some serious content, then you should definately
check out "Restless" and all the albums by
Guerilla Maab & Trae. |
