Listennn! DJ Khaled brings you "We The Best" featuring some of the hottest rappers in the industry right now. T.I., Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Birdman, Young Jeezy, Juelz Santana, Fat Joe, Bun B, Paul Wall, Trina, Bone Thugs, etc.. With that many features, this album has to be tight as hell! Right? Wrong.

The intro has a bangin beat, but DJ Khaled attempts to rap on it,
which is a huge mistake. Khaled should never rap! Rick Ross has a
tight verse on the intro though.
"We Takin Over" was the first single, its a bangin song. If you're
like me, you've heard it and a million times and a million remixes
by now. Akon handles the chorus, making it catchy as hell. T.I., Lil
Wayne, Birdman, Rick Ross & Fat Joe are all featured on this track.
The second single is "Brown Paper Bag" which is a track about drug
money. I actually think this song is better than "We Takin Over" It
has a real tight beat, sounds a little like an old Soul beat. The
song features some of the best artists out now droppin some of their
best verses; Young Jeezy, Juelz Santana, Rick Ross, Fat Joe, Lil
Wayne & Dre.
"I'm So Hood" is an all Florida song, featuring T-Pain, Trick Daddy,
Rick Ross & Plies. Of course the chorus is handled by T-Pain with
the usual vocal effects. Trick Daddy lays down the first verse and
is followed by Rick Ross. They both come with extremely hard lyrics.
Plies has the final verse and may have the best verse on the song.
Bun B & Paul Wall are featured on "Hit Em Up" The beat is a little
annoying, certain parts are tight, but overall it aint bumpin at
all. The chorus is done by Paul Wall, but it's terrible. The best
part of "Hit Em Up" is the opening verse by Bun B.
"Bitch I'm From Dade County" is another real hard track featuring
all Florida artists. The chorus one of those trademark repetitive
southern hooks, It's basically just "Bitch I'm From Dade County"
being repeated. The beat is synthesizer and string heavy, it sounds
real dark. The artists appearing on this song are Trick Daddy,
Trina, Rick Ross, Dre, Flo-Rida, Brisco & C-Ride.
Lil Wayne & Birdman team up on "S On My Chest" which was a little
disappointing to me. This song is close to being tight, but there is
just way too much going on with the beat and their verses arent up
to par for some reason.
Up next is a track by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony called "The Originators"
I'm gotta give them credit, its a tight song. They still rappin like
they did 10 years ago, it's nice to see them back on the scene. I
would've liked to hear a harder track from them though.
There are definately some lame songs on this CD, "Before The
Solution" and "I'm From The Ghetto" are 2 tracks that you will most
likely skip. The best songs on this album have DJ Khaled talking
(yelling) over the beginning of them with his annoying ass voice.
Combine that with the fact that there's only 12 songs on this album
and you have a so-so CD. |
