| "Everybody Know Me" is a real hard song by The Boyz N Da Hood, it
has a little bit of a West Coast feel to it, its an uptempo track
with the Boyz going back and forth on the verses. {wmaremote}http://streamos.atlrec.com/wmedia/atlantic/boyzndahood/audio/everybodyknowme.wax{/wmaremote}
Up next is another hardcore song; "We Riden" has a real gangsta beat
to it filled with alot of hi hats and a catchy chorus. The verses by
the Boyz are without flaw and they break down the dope game and
street life.
Half Hard, Half Laid Back is "Bite Down", this one is definately a
head nodder. The screwed version of this will be a good song to lean
to. This song is dedicated to getting gone as evident by the hook:

Rick Ross joins the Boyz on "Paper" which is all about gettin that
money. This track is mainly all about selling dope, which is perfect
for Rick Ross, however the highlite is the verse by Gorilla Zoe
where he talks about whippin up some white.
T-Pain is featured on "Table Dance", it sounds like your typical rap
song that T-Pain is featured on, that means it's a real catchy song
and it could probably be a hit.
The title track "Back Up N Da Chevy" is one of the best on the
album, it has a very bumpin beat, its very unique. It's filled with
some low strings, a bangin bassline and some sound effects. The
chorus is real catchy and hard.
"Jump" is a song that shocked the hell outta me. Those of you who
grew up in the 80's will recognize the beat, the remade "Jump" by
Van Halen. That's a song I never expected to hear as a rap song, but
when you're signed to Bad Boy, I guess anything's possible. Don't
get me wrong, I love this song, it's bangin. The chorus is addictive
& the strings are throwed.
Yung Joc joins the Boyz on the last 2 tracks, "We Ready" & "Nothing
Promised" Yung Joc fans will definately want to check them both out.
"We Ready" is a synthesizer based track, but they should've worked
more on the chorus. One of the original Boyz N Da Hood Ice Cube is
featured on "Choppers", but the track just aint that tight.
Overall the Boyz N Da Hood definately have avoided the sophomore
jinx. Pick this one up and add it to your collection. The Boyz N Da
Hood brought it real hard on "Back Up N Da Chevy" |
