B.G. & The Chopper City Boyz "We Got This" Review |
|
|
B.G. is back with his newest project The Chopper City Boyz; which include Sniper, VL Mike, Gar and B.G.'s little brother Hakim. After being in the game for 12 years, I’m introducing my new group, says B.G. The Chopper City Boyz are the next step in the Chopper City movement. Since the breakup of my super group The Hot Boyz, there’s been a lack of talented real hip hop groups from the South. The Chopper City Boyz are gonna change all that.

After the intro, the first track is "Taking Over"
which is an uptempo track featuring the Chopper
City Boyz flowin over alot of strings. The chorus
should get some clubs rowdy: "If you a killa than
be a killa, you a hustla than be a hustla,
gorilla's gon be gorillas, you a busta than nigga
f*ck you, you a rider than be a rider, you a
soldier than be a soldier, you a gangsta than be a
gangsta, chopper city boyz taking over."
"Make Em Mad" was produced by David Banner and has
a real hard beat to it, filled with trumpets,
strings and a bumpin bassline. This track is
basically about making others jealous of you. The
Chopper City Boyz deliver some nice lyrics and a
catchy chorus on "Make Em Mad"
"It's Real" almost is a good song, but it misses.
The beat is the biggest problem with this song.
It's comprised of phone keys and a busy tone. It
gets real annoying.
Quite possibly the best song on this album is
"Chopper City" The beat is so hard and the chorus
is just as hard, it 's done in a sampling manner
just like "Hustlin" by Rick Ross. There's alot of
AK spraying in the background, but it fits in nice
with the track. My only complaint about the song
is that its less than 2:30 minutes long and doesnt
feature all the Boyz.
Some other hard tracks on this album are "Thorough
Street Nigga", "Knuckle Up" & "Heart Of A Killer"
All in all this was an ok album, it did leave me a
little disappointed though. I was expecting a
little more B.G. and the production wasn't that
great on alot of the songs. |
