"City Of Syrup"
is the debut album by Big Moe of The Screwed Up
Click. You have heard him on DJ Screw's "3 N Da
Mornin'", the classic Screw tapes "June 27th" & "Sippin'
Codiene". Now with the Hit single "MAAN!!" featuring ESG & Big Pokey,
Big Moe has done it once again.
The album starts off with a Skit of the birth of Big Moe. Followed by the Introduction
track "Barre Baby" featuring the young Ronnetta Spencer.
"Get Back" features Lil O & Big Hawk of the S.U.C.,
Hawk finishes this track with his distinctive flow that I like.
"MAAN!!" features ESG & Big Pokey,
everyone has there own opinion about this as being a "Whoa" ripoff, and others
feeling it was originally a Freestyle. Either way the track goes off hard.
"We Da Shit" features ESG & Z-Ro, I
feel this is one of the best tracks of the album. Track 6 is "I'll Do It", its a
sympathy track featuring Lil O & Dirty $, Big Moe shows his vocal skills well.
"City Of Syrup", this is what I feel is
also one of the best tracks of the album, Big Moe shows both rhyming and singing skills
with his verse.
"Choppaz" features D-Gotti, Noke-D &
D-Reck. Big Moe uses the freestyle hook from the classic Screw tape "Southside On
Choppas", this blends well with the verse he uses, also a well known Freestyle.
"I Wonder" features Enjoli and Tyte Eyez.
Next is another one of the best tracks on the album called "Payin' Dues" feat.
Z-Ro, chorus sung by Big Moe.
"X (Time) 4 Change" features D-Reck,
Noke-D, Al-D, Willean & Ronnie Spencer, this track is laced with a beat like thunder
& krunk verse by Willean of the Botany Boyz.
"Ridin Candy", yet another one of the best
tracks of the album featuring Noke-D, C-Nile & D-Gotti.
"Whatcha Want" features Wreckshop Family,
another one of the best tracks of the album. Next is "Freestyle June 27", this
track is a Chopped & Screwed Freestyle, he brings back some recycled verses and puts
it all together on one track & makes this yet another one of the best tracks of the
album.
The last track is "Leanin" featuring Mike
D, DJ Screw, and Michael Wilson. Words are spoken from each person while Big Moe &
Michael Wilson sing in the background, Mike D's verse catches on throughout the middle of
the track but blends in well.
This album has straight "Texan" influence. I recommend this to everyone
Down South. |
