Smokey's back to review the "Iconz
- Street Money." The Iconz consist of Stage McCloud, SupaStarr, Chapter, Luc Duc,
& Tony Manshino, are a group from Florida off Iconz Music Group. They start this album
out with "Home-Vade" which is by Chapter featuing Suicide. The beat sucks..I
dont know how to explain it..wierd. Beside's the beat the song is decent at best. Let's
just hope they don't make a video for this song.
"I Represent" is another decent song. Some fake Beenie Man sings
the chorus. Every new artist/group has these kinds of songs that they rap about where
their from, this is thiers. "Get Fucked Up" was the party anthem for about a
week. Well maybe a little longer but that is all this song is meant for. Every Icon has a
verse except Luc Duc, he has a verse in the video version but I guess they kicked him out
of this one.
"Laughin At Ya" is track 5. This seems like a song that would be
rapped by The Lox. Its decent song (again). Luc Duc makes up for gettin kicked out
of the last song, and gets thrown in this one. He drops an alright verse. "Nigga
What!" is the first actual good song to me on this album. The chorus of the song is
chanting, more like taunting. Chapter, Luc Duc, and Blade rap this song with featues by
Polo Dynasty, & Piccalo.
"You A Trick" is a good song and the Grammy for best performance in
this song goes to Luc Duc. He drops some impressive verses, whoever raps last in this song
totally sucks this song up. But after that they have some...unique songs and skits such as
"Accept This Here" "Doggy Style" & "Semour Butts".
"What Y'all Know 'Bout Dat" features everybody and thier momma. Actual it
features Redd Eyezz & JoVishes. I hate the song personally, I can't tell each rapper
apart, I dont know who is who so I can judge each persons verse.
"Representin' Da South" is the best song on the album. I believe
this is a solo song by Luc Duc, I think that's why it is good. The beat is good, the
chorus goes good with the song. It's an R&Bish chorus, everything is good on this
song. "In This Bitch" is next up, it aint as good as the previous one but its
good.Chronic Fog and Lil E drop verses on this song. Chronic's verse is good, I can tell
its his verse cause he say's his name. Bull Dog and Lil E got decent verses to add on to
the song.
"We Aint Goin Home Tonite" is a good song.Very Florida sounding
track, its got the little FLA vibe to it. The chorus sounds like a Lil Jon & The
Eastside Boys song. It all mixes together well and makes a good song. After an 8 second
"Outro" they throw in a bonus cut which is a "Get Fucked Up Remix"
with the "Queen Bee" Lil Kim. To end up,Luc Ducs verse from the video version,
is in the version. I dont like this song at all though, they must've been fucked up when
the wrote it.It almost sounds the same as the first, the beat is a littel different and
the verses are different.
Overall, oh boy..lets see, this album has the definite FLA vibe to it.
Good guest appearances but it wasn't no were as good as I was expecting. What went wrong?
Probably some of the beats and theme's to songs. I wouldnt be in a rush to get this.
If it's on backorder, which I doubt it would be, go get whatever else you want. |
