UGK (UNDERGROUND KINGZ) IN-STORES ON AUGUST 7

After a nearly two decade long career, UGK, brings to you a double CD collection that enlists a veritable “who's who” from the hip-hop and R&B universe; T.I., Rick Ross, Slim Thug, Charlie Wilson, Raheem DeVaughn, Three 6 Mafia, Willy D, OutKast, Kool G Rap, and Big Daddy Kane. The star-studded collection production by UGK’s own Pimp C, as well as, NY super producer Swizz Beatz, Scarface, Marley Marl and Atlanta hit makers Jazze Pha and Lil Jon. Regardless of the many guests and producers, the album can simply be described as “original UGK material.”

UGK (Underground Kingz) will also be available in a limited-edition 26-song, two-CD set, with a bonus DVD. The DVD will contain their latest videos including “Int’l Players Anthem (I Choose You) Featuring OutKast,” in-depth interviews with UGK and special guest appearances from OutKast, T.I., David Banner, Rick Ross, Jeezy, Three 6 Mafia and much more.

UGK’s latest hit, the dazzling soulful smash single “Int’l Players Anthem (I Choose You) Featuring OutKast,” features the multi-platinum Grammy winners OutKast with appearances by Three 6 Mafia, David Banner and Gipp of Goodie Mob. The instant video classic, which contains a memorable wedding scene that has to be seen to be believed was directed by Bryan Barber and is currently playing on MTV, MTV2 and BET.

UGK put the south on the map in 1988 with their first album release The Southern Way. Since then, the group has maintained a presence in the rap world with albums, mixtapes, indie releases and cameos on numerous prominent artists’ tracks. In 2000, they made a high-profile appearance on Jay-Z’s “Big Pimpin.” In 2005, Bun B released his first solo album Trill. The gold-certified CD debuted at #6 on the Hot 200 Billboard Charts and peaked at #1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Album Chart. Pimp C released his solo album Pimpalation in summer 2006. The solo effort debuted at #3 on the Top 200 and at #1 on the Hip-Hop and R&B Charts according to Billboard.

Dear Steve and the gang, I want you to know that I listen to your show every morning on my way to work. Although I am not a morning person you all always put a smile on my face. I?m writing you today because I?m all out of ideas. I am a 25 year old woman. I have no kids and I take very good care of myself. My mother is 48 years old and has had a drug problem most of her life. Almost 5 years ago my mother overdosed on prescription drugs and suffered some serious brain damage. She is now living in a nursing home. She is unable to walk. She needs help eating and doing the normal everyday things however she is coherent. I go visit her every other day. We are closer now than we ever were. My mother has two sisters and a brother?not to mention a plethora of nieces and nephews. I AM HER ONLY VISITOR. My mother has been at the same nursing home for 5 years and I can count on one hand how many times someone else other then myself went to visit her. At this point I have pretty much disowned HER family. My mother asks about them all the time and I don?t know what to tell her. I have told them in the past on several occasions how I felt about them not visiting and I informed them that she misses them. NOTHING CHANGES! My heart is hurting for my mother way more then words can express. It?s bad enough that she is so young and confined to a nursing home because I don?t have the means to take care of her on my own, but her family acting as if they have forgotten she exist makes it even worse. Before this they were all close so I don?t understand why they don?t care about her any more. Just in case you were wondering: my mother was never married. She had a boyfriend at the time, but he ran for the hills once all this happened. My father is in my life he raised me, but he and my mother never had a great relationship. I am an only child. Please help me understand this or give me ways that I can get through to them. She misses her family. Love, A heartbroken daughter
