Big Oomp is one of GA's hottest
underground labels and this is basically a compilation of their best songs with different
beats and little extra things. They start this album off with "Big Oomp" which,
if you don't know ,is their record label. It's not too often where people actually do a
song about their label but this song is...decent. Shawty Beezelee ,Naudi Shawty, Loko and
B Real all drop some tight flows.
"Buck Off In This Thang" is track 2 and one of the better
tracks on the album. A nice bass-filled beat bumps in the background, while everybody
drops some decent verses. Baby D's verse would have to be my fav, the reason being he just
flowing a little faster than everybody else .His verse only lasts maybe 15 seconds though.
"Knuckle Up [Remix]" is a remix (Duh) of the original version which was
on Sammy Sam's "Knuckle Up." On this version the changed the beat, added more
bass especially, and they added an intro to the song which uses a boxing theme. verything
else is the same, Shawty B and Dollar (RIP) both come in 2nd and 3rd and drop verses.
"Get Em [Remix]" is another remix on the album. Everybody thought this
was a diss to some Memphains (Three 6 Mafia) but I really don't know if it is or not. This
song was originally on Intoxicated's album "Whichaway". Intoxicated, Baby D, and
Sam all drop their verses."DUI [Remix]" is the 3rd remix on the album. This song
(or the original) is one of Big Oomp Records classics. Naudi Shawty starts this song off
quick, the chorus is really mellowed out. This song also appeared on Intoxicated's album.
"Time To Throw A Chair" is one of my favorites on the album.Shawty
B,Swade,Lil C and Loko the Lunatic rip this track in 2. "Back Up [Remix]" is
track 10 and this is another classic. Pastor Troy and Que Bo Gold guest appear on this
track. It was originally on Baby D's "Off Da Chain" but they decided to give it
a different beat and add Que Bo to the song. They also re-aranged the verses. The beat
hits hard as hell. Lil Peter (Peter the Disciple) starts this song and it's ended by
Pastor Troy. This song is cold as hell, you gotta hear it.
"Messed Around [Remix]" is track 13. This track used to be amazing but on
this album its edited! The beat is tight, but damn, why did it have to be edited? Pastor
Troy drops a tight edited first verse. Loko and Shawty B's verses are totally differ then
their original was cause it was a little explicit."Bim [Remix]" is the 7th remix
on the album, this song aint as good as the original. The beat can get a little irratating
at times with the little screeching sounds. Other then thats its straight.
"Big Oomp Bitch" is another tight "Represent Yo Label" type
song. Pastor Troy, Naudi Shawty, Sam and Loko handle this track. Troy drops 2 verses, I
dont know why he is even in this song when he aint got shit to do with Big Oomp Records.
But it's still tight. The last track on the album is "Wobblin" which is just a
bonus cut. The song is decent: lots of bass, loud horns. This song dont really have a
verse, it's got a real Atlanta feel. The moral to this I guess would be "ass &
titties are good".
Overall...this review is long as hell! But referring to the album, its a real tight
compilation/remix album. If you dont have a system or at least a subwoofer this album
won't be the same to you as people with them. I'd try to get this album whenever possible.
If you ain't into the bass, ass shakin songs leave this behind. If you are, this is your
perfect album. Other Big Oomp albums you should ckeck out are: Baby D "Off Da
Chain" Loko "Git Dat Money" Intoxicated "Whichaway" Sammy Sam
