This highly anticipated album was
produced by S.M.K., he has produced for many artists including Indo G & Lil Blunt in
the early and mid 90's. The Congregation is Pastor Troy, SMK & 11/29.
The first track off this album "The Intro - Walk Like Yall Talk It" got real
nice brass blowin in the background. The lyrics by all members of the Congregation are
tight as hell. If this song is a clue as to whats ahead in the album then it will be a
great album.
"Ghetto Raised" is up next, this song is kinda hype with rapid hi hats and the
catchy chorus sung by Pastor Troy, (Ghetto raised / Ghetto payed / Ghetto Muthafuckas are
everyday / Ghetto Muthafuckas dont like to pray / ghetto muthafuckas just like to spray)
this one will have you bobbin your head. 11/29's verse on this song is tight as hell.
Like the previous track "The Congregation" is one of the first singles off the
album, this song kinda sound similar to the first track with a trumpet blowin in the
background, its kinda got a little bit of a New Orleans feel to it. This song is nice, but
it aint as tight as some other tracks.
"Down South Nigga Fa Life" definately has a little different type of beat than
most beats, the chorus is kinda plain, but once the verses start kickin in, it becomes a
real good song, the first verse by 11/29 is real tight thats followed by Pastor Troy and
then SMK. Every single verse on this track is nice and its a song you gonna keep listening
to.
"Havin A Bad Day" is the only track on the album that Pastor Troy produced and
the chorus basically explains the song "Nigga dont fuck with me, I'm havin a bad
day" it dont really sound like anything off of "We Ready..." my favorite
part of the song is a little bassline that kicks in every now and then. Its a little
slower than the rest of the album, it goes over good, but its not one of the best songs
off the album.
My personal favorite off this album is "Look What I'm Goin Thru" this song
features Kingpin Skinny Pimp and the chorus is one of my favorite parts, its very
remeniscent of a Bill Chill chorus. 11/29 rips the damn track apart showin off a little
tongue twistin ability that he has. Pastor Troy goes next and you know he will stay around
for a while cause he got some skills. "Thats How I learnin, Blunt burnin gonna help
me see the realness of this fucked up reality, its blasphemy" SMK comes with equally
potent verses followed by Skinny Pimp who also does a little bit of tongue twistin on his
verse. The beat on this song is mellow but its crunk, this song is tight as fuck.
"Throw Dem Bows" is all about the club scene, it features Mica B outta
Nashville.
"Get Em Up" kinda got a real nice beat, its kinda laid back and a little
devilish at the same time. They group does a real good job layin down on slow tracks like
this. Disciple Pete is also featured on this track tellin everybody to get em up.
Another nice song is "Do What We Do" Pastor Troy puts down one of his better
verses on this piano laced track. 11/29 & SMK also got real nice verses on this track,
this is one of the better songs lyrically.
You got one of the hottest artists out Georgia hookin up with one of the best producers in
Tennessee and throw in a 11/29 to the mix and you got a tight ass group. A combination
like this hasnt been seen before and what they did was turn out a super crunk album. The
only downside to this album is that its a little short, but its definately worth gettin. |
